Participant's voiceVOICE

  • A different world experience you can only encounter in winter

I was surprised that I could have such an authentic nature experience after dinner. I had been to Oirase in autumn, but the scenery was completely different! I don't like the cold, but I'm glad I decided to participate.

  • The frozen waterfall floating in the darkness took my breath away

The eco-friendly "mobile light-up" is wonderful. The moment the frozen waterfall appeared in the pitch black, I couldn't help but gasp. My wife was also very happy, and it became a wonderful memory.

  • Travelling by bus was a safe and luxurious experience.

I joined the tour from a hotel in Towada City. I was worried about driving on winter roads, so I was really grateful to be taken there so easily by bus. It was a truly luxurious time that allowed me to forget about my daily life.

  • A powerful sight that cannot be captured in a photograph

It's a completely different experience than it looks in photos. The cold air and the sense of presence of being so close to the ice are things you can only experience by participating. I felt the professional skills of the guide.

The Oirase Gorge area is designated as a special protected area, and at night, a world of pitch black spreads out without even a single streetlight. In order to minimize the negative impact on the flora and fauna, the lighting equipment used for illumination is "mobile" rather than permanently installed. The lighting equipment is mounted on a vehicle and travels alongside the tour bus carrying visitors, only illuminating the area when visitors disembark for sightseeing.

The snowy scenery illuminated in various colors such as blue and purple is fantastical, and gazing at it will evoke an unprecedented feeling of awe, as if time has stopped.

This tour will take you to five recommended spots within the Oirase Gorge*. Each spot has its own lighting concept, allowing you to enjoy the changing colors of the icefalls and icicles.
*Night Course 001 or 003 only. Stops vary depending on the course.
